Bill McColl

Bill left Oxford University to found Cloudscale. At Oxford he was Professor of Computer Science, Head of the Parallel Computing Research Center, and Chairman of the Computer Science Faculty. Along with Les Valiant of Harvard, he developed the bulk synchronous parallel (BSP) approach to parallel programming. He has led research, product, and business teams, in a number of areas: massively parallel algorithms and architectures, supercomputing, parallel programming languages and tools, datacenter virtualization, realtime stream processing, big data analytics, and cloud computing. He lives in Palo Alto, CA.

Tony Faustini

Tony spent 10 years at Microsoft Silicon Valley where he worked in a number of corporate divisions including Windows, WebTV, and Legal and Corporate Affairs, and leading teams in Software Licensing, Public Policy, and Standards. Prior to Microsoft, Tony spent three years at Sun Microsystems where he led the software team that developed the award-winning Java Studio product. Before that, he was a researcher at the Computer Science Laboratory at SRI International and a Tenured Professor of Computer Science. Tony has a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in parallel dataflow systems. He lives in Silicon Valley.

wijnand-suijlen

Wijnand Suijlen

Wijnand is a software developer at Cloudscale, where he is responsible for the design, analysis and implementation of the realtime analytics engine. He has deep experience of parallel software development, compiler design, domain specific language implementation, and cloud software deployment. In his recent work on compiler design and realtime scalable systems, he has tended to work with C++, Haskell, MPI and BSP. Before joining Cloudscale he designed and implemented the BSPonMPI parallel programming system. When not developing massively parallel systems software, he can be found walking, running, cycling or swimming. He holds a Masters degree from Utrecht University, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science.

sjoerd-van-hagen

Sjoerd van Hagen

Sjoerd is a software developer at Cloudscale, where he is responsible for the design, analysis and implementation of the cloud computing infrastructure, APIs and web/Java interfaces. He has extensive experience as a developer, using Java, XML, SQL and NoSQL databases, and Amazon cloud software and services. Before joining Cloudscale he worked on games and media technology, and did research work on approximation algorithms, and on computational geometry. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Utrecht University.
